Abaton Island Resort & Spa Celebrates Huge Success in 2018

Having unveiled itself in April, Abaton Island Resort & Spa has quickly become one of Europe’s top holiday hotspots. Crete’s new 5* property pulled out all the stops for its guests this year, including celebs. The gastronomy, spa and service particularly impressed Abaton’s new fan club.

Gastronomy made in heaven

Absolute foodie, fault-finding eater or harsh food critic alike, Abaton pleased every palate out there with five restaurants offering a variety of international cuisine.

For the freshest seafood, visitors indulged at Bony Fish SeaFood Restaurant. On the other spectrum, the authentic ingredients from local farmers turned out to be a real hit at Elemes Cretan Cuisine Restaurant.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Chef Zinon’s award-winning dishes were all served alongside shimmering backdrops of Cretan coastline, 360 metres of it to be precise.

Spa serenity found

Guests found it nearly impossible to describe the serenity of Abaton’s spa, treating themselves to time-tested massage sequences and active ingredients.

Countless 5-star reviews were left following visits to the Turkish hammam, fitness space, poolside waterfall and sunbeds. The Elemis full body massage and decadent detox experience particularly melted the hearts of guests.

2018’s celebrity hotspot

Quickly sussed out to be 2018’s most romantic escape, Abaton welcomed its share of high-profile guests over the season. Made in Chelsea’s Ollie Proudlock and supermodel Emma Louise Connolly celebrated a romantic holiday in July, Instagramming their summer views and supper spreads.

And in June, Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas and TOWIE’s Lucy Mecklenburgh were found in a state of complete zen, with personal butler at hand, a VIP service extended to each and every guest. As seen from their guestroom snaps, the couple absolutely loved their purpose-built honeymoon villa.
